The Scheme is spearheaded by the President, Assistant Grand Master, Sir David Wootton who took over from David Williamson, Past Assistant Grand Master, in November 2015.
The scheme has the full support of the Grand Master HRH the Duke of Kent who when said at the Annual Investiture of Grand Lodge, “ A real benefit the scheme confers is having young intelligent men joining us who will, we hope, contribute greatly to the future of the Craft, as potential leaders and sources of inspiration.
The scheme has now 66 Lodges throughout the Country, with more to come, all pursuing the same goals and objectives yet in their own individual way, with membership consisting of undergraduates, postgraduates, teaching staff and alumni alike with ages ranging from 18 to 80. The decision by Grand Lodge to halve the fees for the under 25’s acts as an encouragement and is intended to make Freemasonry as accessible to as many young men as possible.
