Freemasonry Cares For You

Generally support is available to those shown below. This list should be considered as a general indication however as there may be some restrictions and qualifications.

  • Freemasons (anyone who at any time has been initiated into or joined a Lodge under the English Constitution)
  • The wives, partners, widows and dependants of Freemasons
  • A “partner” is defined as someone who is living with a Freemason ‘as if married’ or was doing so at the time of his death. This applies equally to same-sex partnerships.
  • A “dependant” is someone who is physically or financially dependent on a Freemason

There are no age limits, no qualifying period of membership and no requirement for the Freemason to be still active in the Craft.

How Do I Seek Help

If you feel that you might qualify and you would like to approach one of the Charities the first step is to approach the Lodge Almoner of your local Lodge.

The Province now has a confidential helpline through which you may prefer to make direct contact with the Provincial Almoner or one of his Assistants by leaving a message for them to contact you.  The number is 0844 9 02 02 20. Calls are strictly confidential and are charged at the local rate.
