£2,500.00 Raised at Area 4 Gala Dinner

What an absolutely fabulous evening was experienced by all who attended the first ever Area 4 Gala Dinner at the Magna Science Adventure Centre, Rotherham, on Saturday 3rd February. Well done to those involved in organising the evening and to everyone who supported this inaugural event. It is also a pleasure to report that all the guests present, from our right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master and his wife Rita, to all the non-Masonic friends and family members who attended, thoroughly enjoyed the occasion and could not fail to be impressed by a truly magnificent Masonic social gathering.

The icing on the cake was the almost £2,500.00 made for various charities from the evening and the £2,500.00 the Provincial Grand Master presented to the Mayor of Rotherham, Cllr. Eve Rose Keenan, to support her chosen charities.

The entertainment by the Guest Stars Nik Paige and Rob McVeigh and the Gillian Banks Dancers was absolutely first class, the meal excellent, the company delightful and the whole evening a roaring success.

To combine such an enjoyable occasion for both Masons and non-Masons with such an outstanding boost for Masonic Charities and Mayoral Charities can only be a good thing. It is hoped after this initial success that further similar events will be planned in Area 4.

Thanks must go to the Area 4 Lodges who supported the event and to the organising committee of W Bro. David Taylor, W Bro. John Beaven, Bro. Chris MacCormac, Bro. John Irving and Bro. David MacCormac who worked so hard to make the Dinner such a success. Thanks must also go to our Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro. David S. Pratt and to the Assistant Provincial Grand Master W Bro. John Boyington for their support and encouragement from the outset in what was a new and innovative venture for Freemasonry in South Yorkshire.
