Tapton Masonic Hall to open its doors to the public on 9th September

On Friday September 9th Commencing at 11.00 am Tapton Masonic Hall, Shore Lane, Sheffield S10 3BU, will be open to the public as part of Heritage Open Days. For the ‘Tapton Experience’, there will be tours around the original house, built in 1855, with a talk by one of our members, covering the history of Tapton, from the Shore Family (relatives of Florence Nightingale), through Vickers’ steel and Wilson’s snuff right up to present day. One of the Masonic Temples will be open with displays of Masonic Regalia and two Brethren on hand to answer any questions and advise anyone interested in Freemasonry how to proceed. There will be free tea and coffee on arrival, plus bar lunches will be available should visitors wish to stay and experience Tapton further.
