PGM’s Monthly Posting – February 2016
My Beloved Brethren,
Well it’s February 2016 already and what an interesting month of Masonic meetings.
In addition to Installations and a “surprize” visit to Harrogate & Claro Lodge No: 1001 acknowledging the valuable service of our Provincial Director of Ceremonies, all the Rulers have been busy celebrating long years of service to our Order with 50th and 60th Certificate presentations. As you will expect, I seized the opportunity to lead the singing of “Happy Birthday” at one presentation as the date coincided with the Brother’s actual birthday. Throughout this year, there are many such presentations scheduled and I congratulate and thank the recipients for their many years of service to Freemasonry.
Flood relief has been at the top of my agenda and I am pleased to report that no Brother or dependent has been left either homeless or hungry. You will have seen in the media that our work in local communities continues with £35,000 donated to assist with rebuilding.
Looking ahead, I can see the annual meetings of both West Riding Masonic Charities Ltd and also Provincial Grand Lodge on the horizon and hope to meet and greet as many Brethren as possible.
And finally – The UGLE Strategy document is now in wide circulation and the following went through my mind as I contemplated the future of Freemasonry with confidence:
“Don’t be afraid of change. You will gain something even better!”
