PGM’s Monthly Posting – January 2016
Let me start by wishing everyone visiting this Website a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
I know that in recent weeks all of our very best endeavours have centred on the truly awful effects of the devastating floods in many areas within the Province. What a tremendous response from our Brethren and our own West Riding Masonic Charities in providing emergency relief and support, not only within our Lodges but also within our communities. There was tangible support with Masonic Halls opening their doors to feed and house members of the public and I thank all who have been involved in helping address issues that, for some, sadly has been a life-changing experience
On a brighter note, I had the pleasure of Installing W Bro. Roger D. Newhouse as an Assistant Provincial Grand Master; I have welcomed the MW Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Maine at Felicity Lodge No. 6001 and will be presiding at the Amalgamation Ceremony of Wentworth Lodge No. 1239 with Shrewsbury Lodge No. 7211 at Sheffield.
Looking ahead, I am pleased to note the increasing number of 50th and 60th Jubilee Certificates to be presented in our Province. Such magnificent records of personal service to our Order deserve to be roundly congratulated.
Finally a thought to inspire – “Keep your face always toward the sunshine – and shadows will fall behind you”. (Walt Whitman)
