Area 2 Master Masons Academy
I am again sending you the invite to the next Area2 Master Masons Academy meeting which will take place at Greenhead Masonic Hall, 26 Greenhead Road, Huddersfield. HD1 4EN on Thursday 21st May 2015, 7.00 -7.30pm. There will be a light meal beforehand as usual.
If you are attending could you please reply by E-mail to me at email@example.com, so that I can make the arrangements for meals. If anyone has any specific dietary requirements please let me know. It would be appreciated if you could let me know ASAP but in any event no later than 15th May 2015.
The last meeting took place on Tuesday 12th November 2013, when we met at Blackwall Masonic Hall, Halifax. There were 32 attendees. Twenty five Masons and seven Worshipful Brethren. This was an excellent attendance.
After the meal there was a lecture with regard to Hiram Abif from Brother Danny Murphy of Ryburn Lodge. This was interesting and was very well received by the brethren. He had previously given this to the Halifax and District Installed Masters Association. Danny has since given this lecture at Amity Lodge at Baildon which again was well received by their members.
The Brethren were then treated to a talk by Worshipful Brother Chris Binns of Amity lodge on his walk from Lands End to John 0’ Groates after his retirement from West Yorkshire Police. This was amusing and informative talk not only with regard to the walk but also the Masonic interest on his journey.
Unfortunately due to a lack of support the next meeting had to be cancelled.
There are again two lectures the first will be given by W. Bro Rod Taylor entitled ‘Points of Procedure’, this has been specially prepared for the Academy by Rod and will not have been heard anywhere before. The second will be given by W.Bro Andrew Brown entitled the
‘Forget me not’.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. If you enjoyed the last meeting then please pass this on and bring along those who have not attended before. It is your Academy.
