The Rugby Football Lodge attends the Installation at Webb Ellis Lodge Northamptonshire
The Worshipful Master Mick Dyson and a team of his brethren from the Rugby Football Lodge and other members of our Province attended the Webb Ellis Lodge Installation meeting in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
Both Lodges as well as the Adrian Davies Rugby Lodge in Gloucestershire meet annually for an away fixture and the Worshipful Master of the visiting Lodge is invited to act as the Junior Warden for the evening.
VW Bro Wayne Williams former Deputy Provincial Grand Master and Grand Superintendent of his Province installed Bro Steven Miles in a delightful amusing ceremony which was equally matched by an entertaining Roast Beef and especially made Yorkshire pudding meal for us ‘Yorkies’ as it was put by the former Provincial Grand Master Brian Smith.
W. Bro Dyson responded to the visitors toast in the true Rugby Football Lodge tradition and the match was finally ended with arrangements being made for the return fixture to Huddersfield in September.
Also present was Bro. Steve Thompson MBE the former Northampton, England and British Lion who was a member of the England Rugby World Cup winning side who although now living in Dubai returns to attend all lodge meetings and he was invested as a Steward of his Lodge.
W. Bro Alan Hurdley first met Bro Thompson when he attended various trial games at junior level when he was told that he would never make it as a rugby player.
How wrong could the rugby selectors be!!!!
