Provincial Perimeter Pedal
This summer Freemasons are organising a sponsored bike ride, visiting the 23 lodge buildings that constitute the perimeter of the Province of Yorkshire, West Riding. As you will no doubt be aware the Tour de France Grand Depart takes place in Leeds in July 2014. The three-day Provincial Perimeter Pedal will take place on the Bank Holiday weekend that follows; Saturday 23rd August, Sunday 24th August and Monday 25th August, 2014.
The aims of the event are:
- To raise money for the 2017 Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution Festival
- To provide a social occasion for masons, their families and friends.
- To raise the profile of freemasonry within our communities.
It is envisaged there will be a core group of approximately 30 riders who will ride the entire perimeter route. In addition we welcome people who wish to undertake a shorter ride. They may decide to join the core group from one lodge room to another, or join us for the whole day. It’s really up to you. The principal objective is to raise some money for charity, have fun and do some cycling.
