Well known Publican returns to home town.
W Bro Joe Procter was initiated into Freemasonry on 10th April 1963 at Royal Forest Lodge No 401 in Waddington, nr Clitheroe. In March this year he celebrated his 84th Birthday and on the 10th April this year he celebrated 50 years continuous membership of Freemasonry and was presented with a Certificate to that effect by W.Bro. Martin Stray,PSGD,APGM, on
behalf of the R.W.Provincial Grand Master John K Clayton.
Joe was Worshipful Master of “fower nowt one” in 1973 and his Installation Banquet was held at the Moorcock Inn , Waddington, where he was the Landlord. Joe moved to live in Haworth and became the Landlord of The Olde
Silent Inn at Stanbury,where he joined the local Royal Arch Chapter and was also a Founding Member of the Royal Forest Chapter.
Joe then moved away to take over another hostelry near Whitehaven and after living there for some 14 years has now returned home to Waddington and is enjoying attending “fower nowt one” again where he started all those years ago. He is enjoying renewing old acquaintances and making new friends as well. A first class Banquet was held afterwards at The Swan and Royal Hotel in Clitheroe.
