Area 2 Master Masons Academy

Brethren I am writing to you individually and also to all secretaries in the area in the hope that this reaches as many Master Masons as possible.

From the initial E-mail I sent out, some secretaries believed that this was aimed at Masons with two years or less in Freemasonry. This is a miss conception it is aimed at all Master Masons no matter how long they have been a Mason but with an emphasis on new Masons.

The Province already has academies in the Sheffield, Bradford and Leeds areas all of which are very successful. It is intended that Area 2 will follow the same format.

The first meeting for Area 2 Huddersfield and Halifax will take place at Blackwall Masonic Hall, Blackwall, Halifax. HX1 2EH on Wednesday September 19th 2012 at 7.30pm. The bar will be open at 7.00pm and there will be a buffet meal at a cost of £6. Could you please let me know by E-mail or on 01422-842276 if wish to attend. If I could have replies as soon as possible but no later than the 1st September 2012 please.

(If there are any other dietary requirements then please contact me)

After the meal there will be a talk on Open Evenings, recruitment and retention by Worshipful Brother Andrew Brown. There will also be a short talk on ‘Why we wear white gloves’ by worshipful brother David Smithies.

After this there will be a discussion on what you would want to know more about with regard to Freemasonry. We will then make arrangements for this information to be given in the form of a short lecture at the next meeting. There will also be a question and answer session.

It is intended that the next meeting would be held at Greenhead, Huddersfield on a date to be decided at the meeting.

Brethren this is an initiative that is fully supported by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master Colin Dent

Brethren this is your opportunity to have a forum where you can ask what ever questions you wish and receive the answers. You will be with your peers and you can guarantee that if you want to know something then they will as well.

It will also give you the chance to meet with other Masons and to foster new friendships and allow one of the most important aspects of Freemasonry to flourish VISITING.
