New Master Mason elected Chairman of Craven District Council
Bro. John Andrew Quinn of Craven Lodge No 810 in Skipton was elected Chairman of Craven District Council at the Annual Meeting held on the 24th May 2011. He has been a Craven District Councillor for 9 years and only joined Craven Lodge two years, where he is now Chief Steward.
Councillor Quinn also sits on several Council Committees, which include The Standards Committee, Overview and Scrutiny Committee and is currently Vice Chairman of the Licensing Committee.
During his term of office Councillor Quinn’s “good causes” will be the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Reg Vaux Snowdrop Fund, which raises funds to raise awareness of the disease Mesathelioma which is caused by exposure to asbestos dust.
Bro Quinn and his wife, Gill, received a large buff coloured envelope this week from the Lord Chamberlain’s Office at Buckingham Palace. Inside was an invitation from Her Majesty the Queen for Councillor and Mrs Quinn to attend Her Majesty’s Garden Party to be held on the 12th July 2011. They have, of course, accepted the invitation and are very much looking forward to their trip to London.
Looks like its going to be a hectic year for our new Master Mason and his Lady !
