Grand Gala Evening at the Royal Armouries
West Riding Masonic Charities Celebrate 150 years of continuous Masonic Charity, 600 Freemasons, wives and friends came together at Royal Armouries, Saville Suite to celebrate 150 years of Charitable activity in West Yorkshire.

Chairman Barry Hartley presented the first copy of the History of the Charity to the Provincial Grand Master / President R.W.Bro.John K.Clayton before inviting him to make the cheque presentations.

At the event five £30,000 cheques were .presented to an equal number of non Masonic community projects. The recipients were from diverse community activities and include a lift to help disabled students in Barnsley, play and exercise equipment for young people in Guiseley, the provision of a new search and rescue vehicle in Calderdale, funds to complete a large indoor sports training facility in Queensbury and help for an emergency rescue centre in Clapham.







The Presidents of the four National Masonic Charities were also present and they received £12,500 each to further assist their work directed to helping the elderly, children and the distressed.

This highly successful evening concluded with entertainment and dancing provided by Bernie Flint and Midnight Shift Bernie Flint held the audience in his hand single handedly


then the big band sound on ‘Night Shift’ took over and instantly the dance floor filled and stayed full until midnight
